1. Overview

Authi is a simple way to earn extra income and delight your customers at the point of payment.

Just before payment, Authi briefly appears on your EFTPOS terminal and asks your customer to tap an answer to one simple question.

If you sign up to do this:

  • Authi will pay you $1,000 per year for having Authi active in your store, and
  • Your customer can get up to $1 off their purchase when they answer certain questions.

The $1 does not come from you. It is funded by Authi and our partners, and at the end of each day we total up all the $1 discounts given in your store and pay that amount into your nominated bank account.

Your customers get a better deal, and in the long run that helps you sell more.

Authi is an official Verifone partner, recognised and supported within Verifone’s ecosystem. This means our technology is approved to run on Verifone terminals and we work closely with their team to ensure a secure, reliable and compliant experience for every merchant.

No catch.

You agree to let Authi show quick tap-to-answer questions on your EFTPOS terminal. In return, Authi pays you $1,000 per year (paid monthly), and your customers can get $1 off whenever a market research question appears and they choose to answer.

2. Partner Benefits

1. Guaranteed annual payment
We pay you $1,000 per year, paid in monthly instalments, into your nominated bank account. Payments continue as long as you remain eligible and Authi is active in your store.

2. Cheaper prices for your customers
Your customers can receive up to $1 off when they tap to answer a question. You become the local favourite because people know they can get a better deal in your store, without you having to fund the discount yourself.

3. The Questions

Authi does Market Research. Answer the question and get $1 off.

 

1. Market Research Questions ($1 off)
Companies use Authi to ask a quick question. If your customer chooses to answer, they get an instant $1 off their purchase.

2. Charity Questions
Authi asks your customer: “Which charity should get $1?”
The charity they pick receives $1 from a corporate sponsor. Your customer is simply deciding where the money goes – it is not their money or yours.

No. Authi only displays questions on some transactions, not all of them.

Around 5 seconds. They just tap a yes/no or choose from a simple one-sentence question.

Most people are happy to answer for $1 off. Ask yourself: would you tap a yes/no answer for $1 off a $5 drink?

People also love being able to give to charity when it is not their own money. It feels like a good deed at no cost to them.

Yes. They can skip it any time and go straight to payment.

No. About 50% of questions offer $1 off. Charity questions do not reduce the customer’s bill.

Your customer pays $1 less at the till, but Authi reimburses you for every $1 off that is given. At the end of each day, we total the discounts and pay that amount into your nominated bank account.

4. Partner Eligibility

3,000 Transactions Per Month
You need to have over X transactions per month on average available to authi

Compatible terminal
You need to have an eligible EFTPOS terminal (T650). If you don’t have one, or don’t know what your one is, we can help you figure it out, and get one in your store.

Authi Camera (we sort this)
Once complete, the authi team will arrange a camera to be installed (we pay for and maintain this free of charge.

What do the cameras do?

We use the cameras to filter out people under 18, as we do not show questions to minors. We also use the cameras to decide what question to show, to whom.

Authi can give you notice that it will stop paying you within 30 days.

5. Sign Up Process

Contact team@authi.co.nz and we can kick off the process.

6. Payments

From the day the Authi is fully operational in your store (terminal & camera).

As long as you maintain eligibility indefinitely.

Only if we suspect you of fraud; eg, if you ran multiple transactions yourself, or pressed the answer button on behalf of customers.

We reserve the right to cancel where it is in the best interest of Authi

7. Support

It can’t and won’t. If it does contact us straight away – team@authi.com

No. The question shows briefly before the transaction screen — it doesn’t delay or interfere with payments.

Absolutely. Just email team@authi.com with your request, and we’ll filter them out.

Not at all. Your terminal works exactly the same, no change to how you take payments.

8. Cancellation & Support

No. You can get out at any time. Verifone will remove the software from your terminal, and we will stop paying you. No hooks or fees.
